Rainbow Bridge

Hello, I hope you are staying safe and well. Today I wanted to share The Rainbow Bridge poem with you. It is 20 years since my Golden Tammy passed away, but I still miss her every day. I know many others are in the same boat too. I have made these Rainbow Bridge hearts as a memorial  to our beloved pets. If you would like to make one there are more details about the easy steps on theCalico Craft Blog

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth
It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills, valleys with lush green grass
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this special place
There is always food and water and warm spring weather
The old and frail are young again
Those who are maimed are made whole again
They play all day with each other
There is only one thing missing
They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !
The nose twitches ! The ears are up !
The eyes are staring ! And this one suddenly runs from the group !
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her into your arms and embrace
your face is kissed again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated

My Tammy - quick painting

I drew my darling Tammy for a junk journel Challenge on Facebook. I found a photo of Tammy from Christmas 1985 she was holding an empty packet of chocolate fingers, which she must have happily retrieved from somewhere! I remember that we only ever used to have chocolate fingers at Christmas.

I sketched Tammy in pencil and then used my pastels to colour her. I was determined to do this all quickly  as I know I would just keep going until I thought it was good enough, but that would never happen !

I think I may add some words to the picture I am not sure.....

Thank you for visiting .
